Wolf Tooth Components Rear Axles for X-12 use a captive conical steel washer under the head to reduce friction. This protects your expensive frame, transfers more of the tightening torque to clamping load for a stiffer interface, and prevents the axle from sticking or galling when you want to remove it. They are made from lightweight aluminum and are available in multiple axle sizes, thread lengths, and thread pitches. This version is made specifically for bicycles that use the Syntace X-12 System, which includes many models from Specialized, Cannondale, Intense, 3T, Canyon, and others. The main difference between this and other Wolf Tooth axles is that the X-12 axle uses a conical washer rather than a flat washer.
